Position Title: Software Engineer - C++ (ID: TS0415)
Location: Toronto, Ontario

We are currently seeking a Software Engineer with a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience to work with the Working Papers development team.

As part of the dynamic Working Papers team you will have significant opportunity to contribute to CaseWare’s market leading role while working with a variety of technologies in developing new product features.

You are responsible for:

  • Using bug tracking software to assess and plan your development tasks.
  • Using source control and the latest development environments to perform your development tasks.
  • Ensuring that your code is of good quality, solid design and meets requirements.
  • Assisting Technical support and Quality Assurance with product related issues.
  • Maintaining existing code by resolving problems identified by Technical support or Quality Assurance.
  • Producing clearly written and concise design and architecture documentation for use as a basis for Technical Writing and Sales related documents.
  • Providing accurate time estimates and meeting scheduled deadlines.

You possess:

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience developing Windows Applications using C++, MFC, COM/ATL and Win32.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and complete assigned tasks as scheduled.
  • Proven analytical, design and planning skills.
  • Sound technical knowledge in software development methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with developers and outside groups.
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases and financial accounting is an asset.
  • Willingness to participate in meetings and contribute to the overall process.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.

Qualified candidates will be required to sit an test. The test is 1 1/2 hours and covers basic C++ and Windows programming. The test is part of our interview process and an interview may be done immediately after.

The position is located in Downtown Toronto.
